Advances in the responses of plants to wind-induced mechanical stimulation
植物响应对风致机械刺激研究进展

In nature, mechanical stimulation (MS) is highly ubiquitous. Studies of the MS effects on plants can enhance to better understand direct effects of wind. Recently, the relationship of MS and plant growth has become one of the interesting issues in plant ecology and plant mechanics. Here, we briefly summarize the progress of MS effects and its mechanisms, and discuss the potential adaptive implications of plant responses to MS in windy environments. In addition, we propose some questions and directions in the future research.
