STUDY ON ABSORPTION AND ACCUMULATION OF HEAVY METAL POLLUTANTS IN THE WOODYPLANTS

Abstract:
1. Woody plants play an important role in absorbing and accumulating heavy metal pollutants (lead, cadmium, copper, and zinc) from the atmosphere. The maximum of heavy metal pollutants absorbed by some of trees around the smelter within a moth comes to 2000 ppm approximately. Therefore, our experiments show a way to biological control of heavy metal pollution.2. The absorbing capacity of heavy metal pollutants by the woody plant leaves is very high.
