Generalized spinal cord atrophy is rare. Several causes can be found
responsible for this entity. Marfan syndrome
(MS) is a clinically and allelically heterogeneous, heritable connective tissue
disorder. Previous study has implicated neuromuscular involvement in this
syndrome. Here, we report the description of a patient with generalized spinal
cord atrophy, which may be attributed to MS. Though not all patients represent with
spinal cord atrophy, our case suggests that generalized spinal cord a...

Introduction:
Mental disorders are the most stigmatized diseases. Despite the progress in
social psychiatry and the adoption of mechanisms that raise awareness in the
public, mentally ill patients are continuing to be victims of discrimination.
Nurses and health care professionals are working together with patients and
their families in order to address issues that are raised by those behaviors.
Propose: The present study aims to investigate the nurses’ attitudes towards
mental disorders and the...

3-D thermal model of energy efficiency house for rural areas is proposed.
For research and optimization of thermal regimes and envelopes structure constructive,
finite element and computational models are developed. These models are practically
implemented in the software packages SolidWorks and COMSOL Multiphysics. Created
model allows calculating 3-D temperature field of building with local heat insulator
materials using free available software. Method: Computer modeling. Additional object—air...

Human
mirror neuron system is believed to provide the basic mechanism for social
cognition. Mirror neurons were first discovered in 1990s in the premotor area
(F5) of macaque monkeys. Besides the premotor area, mirror neuron systems,
having different functions depending on their locations, are found in various
cortical areas. In addition, the importance of cingulate cortex in
mother-infant relationship is clearly emphasized in the literature. Functional
magnetic resonance imaging, electroencepha...

Length-weight relationship is an essential biological parameter needed to
appreciate the suitability of the environment for any fish species. That is why
many fishery biological studies give an importance to it. The relationships
between total length and body depth and girth are very important in estimating
the allowable catch and appropriate mesh size to be used in a fishery. Length-weight
and some morphometric relationships (depth-total length, girth-total length and
dorsal fin length and anal...

The use of technology in social and educational settings has expanded over the last decade. Millennial students are more likely to multitask, using a variety of devices, in social and classroom activities. The aim of this study was to determine if in-class multitasking, specifically texting, had an impact on test scores of beginning nursing students. In this experimental study, ninety-one students enrolled in a first level nursing course were randomly assigned to texting and non-texting groups d...

A theory of relativistic traveling wave tube (RTWT) with magnetized cold plasma-filled
corrugated waveguide with solid electron beam is given. The entire system
influenced a strong longitudinal magnetic field that magnetized plasma and
electron beam. The characteristic of the dispersion relation is obtained by
numerical solutions. The effect of electron beam density, corrugated period,
waveguide radius on the dispersion relation and growth rate is analyzed. Some
useful results are given.

In this paper, we propose a rumor transmission model with incubation
period considering the fact that incubators may move to stifler class and
susceptibles may move to spreader class. The model is formulated with constant
recruitment and varying total population. The full system of the model is studied qualitatively producing rumor-free and
rumor-existence equilibriums. The existence conditions of the
equilibriums are investigated. Moreover, the local and global stability
analysis of both equili...

Background: Abuse of medicines is becoming a serious problem in many
parts of the world, with negative consequences ranging from addiction,
psychosis, cardiovascular complications, and premature deaths from unintentional
overdose. In Pakistan, prescription drugs, which are misused or abused by some
patients, are often obtained from pharmacies. However, intervention for prescription
drugs misuse has not been tested in this setting. Objectives: The objective of
the study was to assess knowledge, p...

The management of nonunions with significant loss of bone remains a very difficult
challenge for orthopedic surgeons. Several techniques have been developed, for
some with difficult realization, and without convincing result for others. Our
study involved two patients between 2012 and 2015, whom developed a tibial bone
nonunion with significant loss of bone and having benefited from the elevator
fragment technique using the Ilizarov external fixator. The evolution was good
with filling of the bo...
