This review provides a general overview of petroleum characteristics and
bioremediation strategies applications in oceanic environments contaminated
with petroleum hydrocarbons during exploration and transportation processes
offshore. The vast oil reserves in the offshore fields have been explored for
the production of light and heavy oil. The hydrocarbons exhibit very different
physicochemical characteristics including those of hydrophobicity, molecular
weight, melting and boiling points, toxic...

Developing countries’ surest route to sustained poverty reduction is
economic growth. Policymakers encourage foreign direct investment (FDI) for the
enhancement of productivity in-country and the promotion of economic
development, through the “multiplier” effect. It is generally agreed among
researchers that local conditions (absorptive capacities) are important factors
contributing to the effect of FDI on economic growth. FDI has contributed to
output growth in Nigeria, especially in the petrol...

In this article we are going to introduce certain applications of the
theory of neural network to medicine. In particular suppose for a given disease D, belonging to the category of
immune deficiency diseases or cancers, there are numbers of drugs each with
partial remedial effect on D. We are
going to formulate a cocktail consisting of mixture of the above drugs with
optimal remedial effect on D.

Equipment failures and associated maintenance have an impact on the
profitability of mines. Implementing maintenance at suitable time intervals can
save money and improve the reliability and maintainability of mining equipment.
This paper discusses aspects of maintainability prediction for mining
machinery. For this purpose, a software tool, called GenRel, is developed. In
GenRel, it is assumed that failures of mining equipment caused by an array of
factors follow the biological evolution proces...

During prolonged exercise, fatty acids are mobilized from triglycerides
(TG) and become an important energy source. But excess accumulation of TG in
different tissues causes abnormalities in humans. Role of high fat diet in the
distribution of TG is well established but the role of mixed dietary fat is not
clear. In our study, exercised Swiss Albino mice were subjected to feed high
fat diet and mixed fat diet (Saturated Unsaturated fat enriched diet) for the
period of four weeks to show the ef...
