Critical Success Enablers of Southeast Asian Entrepreneurs in Times of Major Crises

Godofredo Cristobal Utanes, Kanishka Bedi
This research intended to address a gap in the literature about Southeast Asian entrepreneurs who surmounted global crises in 1997-1999 and 2007-2009. It looked at the crucial success enablers (CSEs) of six entrepreneurs, two from each of three Southeast Asian countries, namely: Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. These business owners or managers were described as owning or managing small or medium-sized businesses. In times of major crises, the CSEs contain qualities, strategies, and ch...

Piezoelectric Model of Water Drop Low Voltage Harvester

Azrul Mahfurdz, Saifuddin Semail, Sunardi Sasmowiyono
This research proposes the low voltage measurement from a piezoelectric transducer. The vibration source is acquired from water drop impact for different distances. A strip chart was used to record voltage signal from piezoelectric at a 100-Hz sampling rate. The voltage for each sample was saved in excel format and analysed in MATLAB software. The voltage generated has been compared with and analysed for three types of piezoelectric transducers from polyvinylidene fluoride type (PVDF). Based on ...

Living Together, Biculturalism and Appointments in the Cameroonian Public Service: The Case of the University of Yaoundé II

Moluh Yacouba
Two culturally different colonial territories came together in 1961 to form Cameroon, making it a bicultural country. Since then, the issue is being challenged mainly in its theoretical aspects. This article provides empirical and supportive evidence of the challenge of living together in a bicultural society. There is no doubt that such materials are important in strengthening our understanding of the ongoing socio-political crisis in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon. Proceeding from the soci...

Climate Change and Carbon Sequestration among Smallholder Farmers in Uganda: An Introduction and Review of Literature

Hellen Abbo Owasa
In Uganda, sorghum constitutes the second most widely grown cereal according to the latest statistics from the country’s statistics body, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics. This notwithstanding, there has been, in the context of Uganda, very little research and published literature on its potential to sequester carbon. There is no sufficient data on the exact levels of carbon sequestered by this sorghum/legume intercropping system, which is widespread as a technology within Uganda’s smallholder so...

Heterogeneity in the Elastic Half-Space (Deformations at Preparation of the Tectonic Earthquake)

Igor P. Dobrovolsky
With the help of Mindlin’s tensor, the problem of heterogeneity in an elastic half-space comes down to the solution system of integrable equations. Different versions of the solution of such systems are considered. The main attention is paid to the solution of integrable equations with small parameters.
