The Iliotibial Band Transfer Restores Extensor Function after Quadricepsplasty for Knee Stiffness

Nguyen Ngoc Hung
Introduction: Retractile fibrosis of the quadriceps is a physical and social handicap in children, and often results from a past history of quadriceps intramuscular injection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic results of fibrous quadriceps treated by distal quadricepsplasty using a transferring Iliotibial band (TITB) to prevent kin necrosis by Incision Z-Plasty. Materials

An Application of Bootstrapping in Logistic Regression Model

Isaac Akpor Adjei, Rezaul Karim
Computer intensive methods have recently been intensively studied in the field of mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, behavioral and life sciences. Bootstrap is a computer intensive method that can be used to estimate variability of estimators, estimate probabilities and quantile related to test statistics or to construct confidence intervals, explore the shape of distribution of estimators or test statistics and to con

Stochastic Dynamics of Quantum Physical Systems

Malkhaz Mumladze
In this article we define and build the one method of description of stochastic evolution of a physical quantum system. For each quantum state wEU we construct the probability measure uw in the space (PU, S), where PU is the space of the pure states of the quantum system, S the Borel σ-algebra in PU

Influence of Climate Variability on Seasonal Rainfall Patterns in South-Western DR Congo

Kabongo Tshiabukole, Pongi Khonde, Muliele Muku, Kizungu Vumilia, Kiasala Lunekua, Mbuya Kankolongo
Climate variability in DR Congo in general and in the Kongo Central Province in particular is well established. However, rains related to variables such as frequency of rainy days and duration of the rainy seasons was generally very little studied. This study aims to investigate the influence of the climate event on rainfall patterns in the south-western of the DRC. This is firstly to characterize the climate event from the analys

Evaluation of the Adequacy and Utilization of Contingency Fund in Building Projects in Nigeria

O. F. Akinradewo, O. A. Awodele
Contingency fund is allowed in the cost estimate to cater for risks which always lead to additional cost. The study used archival data to assess the accuracy of contingency sum and utilization among various types of claims. Data collected were analysed using percentile and Pearson’s coefficient of correlation. The study reveals that the current allowance as contingency is 5% of the base line estimates while additional cost is 18%

Selection for Litter Size Variability: Effect on Evolution of Body Condition

María Luz García, Eddy Wilfredo Calle, María José Argente
A divergent selection experiment for litter size variability has been carried out successfully in rabbits. The aim of this work was to determine the evolution of body weight and perirenal fat thickness throughout the productive lifespan of females in the high litter size variability (H) line and the low litter size variability (L) line. The traits measured in females from both the H and L lines were body weight and perirenal fat t

Determination of the Degree of Pasture Factor Digression in the Communities of Environment Contact Sites (Some Methodological Approaches)

Alexander P. Sizykh
This paper is concerning the problem of determining of the character of disturbance of plant communities under the influence of the pasture factors. There are methodological approaches for determining of the degrees of the digression of the plant communities based on qualitative and quantitative parameters of the structure of cenoses for different natural zones. However, there are no approaches and techniques for comprehens
