Journal of Agricultural Chemistry and Environment (JACEN) , 2021, DOI: 10.4236/jacen.2021.101008
Abstract: Water control is a major problem in crop production, particularly in fragile ecosystems such as the Sahel. Water is the most important factor in plant productivity. Many initiatives have been developed in this direction, including all methods of irrigation and water and soil conservation. The objective of this work is to assess the effectiveness of this amendment in crop production in the context of climate variability. The methodology is based on experimentation to statistically compare the natural biomass on a soil of silty-clay-sandy texture, divided into two blocks, one of which is amended with potassium polyacrylate and the other is not. This study showed that the wet and dry biomasses produced on soils with potassium polyacrylate are significantly higher than those produced on unamended soils at the 5% threshold. Based on these results, potassium polyacrylate may be a solution to recurrent dryness pockets. However, uncontrolled environmental testing is necessary to confirm these results.

Abstract: this work aimed to study the effects of different irrigation depths and potassium doses on yield and fruit quality of papaya cv golden. the experiment was carried out in an area of commercial and agricultural production situated in linhares - es, brazil. the design employed was randomized blocks, arranged in subdivided parcels and having three replications. the treatments consisted of five irrigation depths in the parcel and four potassium doses in the subparcel, totalizing 20 treatments. the five programmed irrigation depths were 50; 70; 90; 110 and 130% of the reference evapotranspiration and the four potassium doses were 30; 42; 54 and 66 g of k2o plant-1month-1. the high rainfall rates in the experimental period (february-2005 to june-2006), greatly overcame the plant water requirements, interfering in the treatments, not allowing significant variation in the variables analyzed, particularly in function of the applied depths. during the 11 months and 21 days of harvest, the average yield was 79.41 t ha-1, with an average of 96 fruits per plant which, in the first stage of ripening, presented a mass of 404 g, average total soluble solids content (sst) of 10.11 obrix and pulp and fruit firmness of 79.80 n and 126.19 n, respectively.

International Journal of Engineering and Advanced Technology , 2013,
Abstract: This research aims to improve the plant layout of manufacturing industry to make optimum space utilization, eliminate obstructions in material flow and thus obtain maximum productivity. The present layout and operation process of each section (i.e. material storage, cutting, machining shop, fabrication shop, assembly and inspection section and finish product storage) have been investigated. The problem in the space utilization and material flow pattern was identified. Flow process chart of each product is studied and it is analyze by Minimum Product Travel Method and CRAFT (Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique). The result showed that raw material section, cutting section and fabrication shops should be allocated to make the good material flow. The suitable of new plant layout can decrease the Distance of Material Flow and Transportation Cost which rises production.

Open Journal of Applied Sciences (OJAppS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ojapps.2016.64027
Abstract: The emissions of greenhouse gasses in Egypt are about 0.58% of the total emissions of the world in the year 2015, although Egypt is one of the countries most affected by the impacts of climate change. By assessment and analysis of the expected economic impacts of climate change by the year 2030, the Egyptian cultivated area will be reduced to about 0.949 million acres, equal to about 8.22% of the Egyptian cultivated area compared with the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, thus reducing crop area in Egypt to about 1.406 million acres, approximately to about 6.25% of crop area compared with the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, in addition to surplus in the Egyptian balance water to about 2.48 billion m3. In this case value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 6.19 billion dollars, equal to about 6.19% compared with presumably no sinking of the Delta land. In the case of sinking 15% of Delta lands, with the change of the productivity and water consumption of most crops, the result will be a reduction in the cultivated area to about 0.94 million acres. In addition to decreasing the Egyptian crop area to about 1.39 million acres, with a deficit in the Egyptian balance water to about 4.74 billion m3 compared to the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, the cultivated area will decrease to about 8.17%, and the crop area will decrease 6.18%. Also, the value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 12.51%. While compared to sinking part of the Delta land to about 15% of the total Delta area without the other impacts of climate change, the cultivated area will increase by about 0.06%; the crop area will increase by about 0.08%; also, the value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 5.57%.

Abstract: the cultivation of elephant or napier grass (pennisetum purpureum) in the gypsum- producing region of araripe, in the west of the state of pernambuco in northeastern brazil, may be viable as alternative energy, especially when the soil fertility is improved. the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of crude gypsum on the nutritional status, mineral composition, biomass production, and nutrient uptake efficiency of elephant grass varieties in araripe, pernambuco. for this purpose, three elephant grass varieties: cameroon, gramafante and roxo, were planted in the presence and absence of gypsum in randomized blocks in a factorial arrangement (3 x 2) with four replications. the dry matter production of cameroon and gramafante was high, but the response to gypsum was only significant for the variety cameroon, with 33 mg ha-1. gramafante was more efficient in the use of ca than cameroon and roxo.

Abstract: in spite of being the cradle of the species of the genus hevea, brazil contributed, in 2001, with only 1.5% of the world production of 7.132 million tons and it consumed around 3.5% of a total of 7.03 million tons of the world demand. the most productive clones are the orientals rrim 600, pb 235 and pr 255, with production around 1,500 kg of dry rubber/ha/year. the cultivation of those clones in different regions in brazil shows adaptation to several climatic patterns. the aim of this work was to evaluate the productive behavior of clones of rubber tree, associated to seasonal climatic and physiologic factors in relation to the latex production in lavras, state of minas gerais, brazil. the research was conducted in the experimental area of biology department of federal university of lavras, sector of plant physiology, between june 2001 and july 2003. the plant water relations and nutritional factors were appropriate to the productive period. the productivity of clone rrim 600 was higher than the others and presented positive correlation to the environmental factors during the experimental period. the nutritional factors of the latex and the obstruction index showed significant correlation to the production.

Mello, Marcia O.;Amaral, Ant?nio F. C.;Melo, Murilo;
Scientia Agricola , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-90162000000400016
Abstract: curcuma zedoaria roscoe, a vegetatively propagated member of the zingiberaceae family, has been used extensively due to therapeutic properties. the interest of in vitro massal propagation of medicinal plants has improved since the conventional methods of propagation limit the utilization potential of these plants. shoot meristems were inoculated on agar-solidified culture media containing the basic salts and vitamins of murashige & skoog supplemented with 2.0 mg l-1 bap and 30 g l-1 sucrose. the cultures were incubated in a growth room at 25±2°c and 16/8 hours photoperiod (light/dark). transfers were carried out each 40 days. the results obtained allowed the determination of the number of plants produced by each transfer. it was also possible to estimate the number of plants to be produced at any number of transfers after 120 days from inoculation, based on the following equation: y=8.74x2 - 21.19x + 23.47, where y is the number of plants produced and ′ is the number of transfers to be perfomed from each explant. the cost of c. zedoaria plants produced in vitro was us$0.38/plant when a production of 200,000 plants/year is considered.
