Open Journal of Nursing (OJN)
, 2021, DOI:

Abstract
:
Background:
Healthcare management and control have been essential to any economy and a concern for most nations. Health care being in the service industry gives another challenge as they are inseparable from the service providers. As a result, a significant focus should be made on the management and control of healthcare. A study is necessary to establish how such practices influence service delivery within the healthcare industry.
Objective:
To show the influence of health care management and control on the service delivery in the health sector and to establish the impact of health care management system on the delivery of health services, find out the extent to which health leadership has influenced service delivery in the health industry and to establish the existence of healthcare control practices in the health industry and their impact on service delivery.
Methods:
The general information questionnaire, interviews patient’s satisfaction scale, and the hospital performance index were investigated by interviewing 42 healthcare workers working in Oklahoma hospitals. The study utilized a combination of data collection instruments, questionnaires, and interviews for primary data collection and a cross-sectional survey for secondary data from healthcare records within the healthcare facilities. The research adopted a descriptive statistics methodology for data analysis. The study tested the validity of data collected and reset test for omitted variables and simple correlation analysis.
Results:
effective healthcare management yields reasonable patient satisfaction and ignites motivation among healthcare workers. Additionally, quality service delivery is a function of proper healthcare management systems. Although it is impossible to measure effective management through observation, the testimonies and satisfaction levels among the nurses and the patients communicate accurately.

Abstract
: this paper discusses the development of a methodological approach to classify hospital pharmacies according to their performance, measured by structure and process indicators. the method considers the influence exerted on performance by the level of care in the hospital and the interdependence among pharmaceutical activities. algorithms for assessing performance of hospital pharmacies were constructed for each level of care. different weights were used for core activities in the pharmacy and other specific activities, according to the level of care in the hospital where the respective service was provided. this methodology allowed classifying hospital pharmacies from best to worst, based on performance. independently of level of care in the hospital, no hospital pharmacies were classified as high-performance, and more than 50% were classified as low-performance.

Abstract
: the hospital pharmacy is responsible for several services which influence inpatient outcomes. this paper describes the construction of criteria and outcome indicators for brazilian hospital pharmacies using delphos, a consensus technique in which physical presence of specialists is not necessary. 22 specialists from 4 brazilian regions participated. the entire process was anchored on the logical model previously constructed for the brazilian hospital pharmacy. the four phases were conducted through e-mail contact. the first round of contributions identified 103 possible outcomes. these were screened and classified according to adequacy, relevance and measurability, producing 22 criteria that originated 20 outcome indicators, grouped in 7 separate aspects of quality of the pharmacy service. initial contributions helped clarify four different log frame components. all of the outcomes considered by specialists in this study have been already described in the literature as structure and process indicators. based on the results, we believe that the construction of composite indicators for the brazilian hospital pharmacy based on the aspects of quality that emerged from the analysis would better depict these indicators' contribution to the evaluation of inpatient care.

Abstract
: objective: the purpose of this study was to evaluate whether a new anticoagulation management program resulted in better monitoring of warfarin, increased warfarin patient education prior to discharge, and fewer bleeding complications associated with warfarin. methods: a retrospective chart review was conducted of patients who were inpatients and received warfarin from april 1, 2008 to july 31, 2008 (control group) and from april 1, 2009 to july 31, 2009 (after implementation of the new anticoagulation program). the frequency of warfarin-related laboratory orders that included international normalized ratios (inrs), complete blood counts (cbcs), and documented patient education by pharmacy, nursing, and dietary services were determined before and after program implementation. also, data was collected to determine frequencies of bleeding complications associated with warfarin. results: there were 112 patients in the pre- and 115 patients in the post-program group. after implementation of the inpatient warfarin management program, obtaining baseline inrs increased from 74% to 90% (p=0.001). orders for baseline cbcs increased from 85% to 94% (p=0.026). obtaining cbcs every 3 days increased from 54% to 74%, (p<0.001). however, there was no significant change in orders for daily inrs (p=0.055). education by nursing increased from 54% to 80%, (p<0.001), by pharmacy increased from 8% to 76%, (p<0.001), and by dietary increased from 11% to 79%, (p<0.001). documentation by all three disciplines in each patient increased from 3.6% to 59%, (p<0.001). significantly fewer patients received vitamin k and/ or fresh frozen plasma for supratherapeutic inrs with bleeding complications after the program was initiated compared to baseline (p=0.009). conclusion: the implementation of an inpatient warfarin management program led to better monitoring of patients receiving warfarin, and increased patient education. however, a larger and longer assessment is necessary to determine if these

Abstract
: Objective: To show developments and contributions of a clinical pharmacy service in safety and rational use of medications in a large tertiary hospital. Methods: Clinical pharmacists were responsible for all issues using medications at the hospital. In the beginning this professional was responsible for analyzing medical prescriptions, horizontal visits, and to set up protocols. Afterwards, other activities were designated such as monitoring for drug safety, participating in committees and managed routines. If problems were found, the pharmacist reported them for the physician and, after intervention, registered the management on the prescription or in medical records. The data collected were presented as reports to medical managers. Results: There was an increase of clinical pharmacist employed in 2010, reaching 22 individuals. Interventions types also increased from 1,706 in 2003 to 30,727 in 2010. The adhesion observed in medical team in 2003 was 93.4%, reaching 99.5% of adhesion in 2010. Conclusion: Clinical pharmacy service shows a positive impact when it comes to performed interventions. It also promotes a rational use of medicines and increase patient safety. Pharmacists were included and their importance confirmed within the multidisciplinary team and in the process of patient safety.

Abstract
: The aim of this present work is to find out a suitable and updated hospital pharmacy management system for Bangladesh. Hospital pharmacy is considered as the heart of any hospital because all the departments like surgery, cardiology, nephrology, medicine, pediatric etc. are linked up with pharmacy section. Although the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh is enriched so much and the product is up to the mark but the improper management system in hospital pharmacies make the patient’s burden high. So, development is required in hospital pharmacy to ensure the proper choice, preparation, store, compounding and dispense of medicine as well as medical devices along with counseling for patient’s safety and compliance.
