Abstract:

lev vigotsky’s theory about the relationship between cognition and language has been an important issue in the modern psychology and in developmental psychology in particular. however, his ideas about the possible links between thinking and language has not been too considered in the modern cognitive science and psycholinguistics, perhaps because the anglo-saxon origin of these disciplines. the present paper analyses the presence of the theory by vigotksy in the cognitive psycholinguistics, focusing in the research about animal behavior and non-human primates, as well as the study of language evolution and the neuropsychological dissociations between cognition and language.
