Abstract: this article presents a narrative about the interminable learning process to be an editor of scientific journals. it seeks to give a name to a complex and long activity, transforming it in an experience, i. e., in knowledge. it concludes that, in the near future, ethical problems will take the major part of the editorial work and proposes that it would be good if editors could prepare themselves for this great debate.
