Abstract:

using information from gieh from dane, for the last two quarters of 2009 and 2010, it finds that occupied and unemployed from the thirteen main metropolitan areas of colombia, who looked for employment at informal channels and formal search, use to have a higher probability to be out of unemployment that those who search at moderate informal channels, in this group is counted the possibility of establish a new business. according to the parametric analysis of the unemployment duration, it can be deduced that with the time, references from member of the family or friends for having a job become obsolete while search alternatives become stronger.
