the industry of medications is monopolized by some pharmaceutical companies that have insured the world market by means of the patent rights, which allow in an indirect way to increase the prices of the products being inaccessible for great quantity of people. this way, the pharmaceutical extraordinarily profitable industry enters in collision with the health considered as a good and a fundamental right that it should be within reach of the whole population. in front of this reality, the trilateral alliance conformed by india, brazil and sudáfrica (ibsa), it has joined their efforts in relation to three illnesses that it considers high-priority: the aids, the malaria and the tuberculosis, denominated "the poor's illnesses", being a paradigmatic reflection of the inequality and the underdevelopment. the present work examine the role of ibsa, in relation to the pharmaceutical patents for the access to medications for the treatment of infectious illnesses, whose objective is the establishment of new patterns in the world gobernability as regards health.
