Las actividades matem??ticas y los libros de texto desde una perspectiva socioculturalKeywords: mathematical activitiestext , books of mathematics. Abstract: this investigation takes care of activities or mathematical practices like counting, locating, to measure, to play to design and to explain (bishop, 1999) in a text book selection of mathematics of 7ao degree of the venezuelan basic education, en particular en el marco del abordaje que hacen de uno de los t?3picos que contempla el plan de estudios para este curso: el concepto de ??rea. it consists of a study interpretative theoretician with support in descriptive study in that techniques of content analysis were used. the paper is discussed that carries out text books in education/learning of the mathematics. these ideas allow us to approach the following questions: what type of activities exposes and proposes text books of mathematics? and which is its relation with activities like counting, locating, to measure, to play to design and to explain? between the results one is that: in general, the studied texts have a poor presence of the mathematical categories. they are centered rather in activities that they have to do with the application of equations (or formulas) to calculate the area of polygonal figures to divide of the resolution of problems and exercises, with the development of processes of the mathematical thought, and with the understanding of concepts. to play and to design they are the mathematical activities that less appears in these texts. this one last one occurs only in a text, and an activity. the only activity that is in all texts is to explain, even though generally it does not have an important weight in texts.
