Modelo analógico para ense?ar biotecnología: Una experiencia en el aulaKeywords: analogical model, biotechnology, teaching. Abstract: faced with the new challenges in the teaching of sciences and the didactic innovations, the analogical models represent a tool to understand the scientific concepts. this investigation, evaluative nature and qualitative design, describes the experience in the application of an analogical model about the californian red worm (eisenia foetida) to teach biotechnology in high school. applied techniques, mental maps, participant observation and interview. the analogical model compared ?a biotechnological factory? (topic) with a ?corn flour factory? (analogue). the mental maps strategy was applied to students to achieve understanding of the analogy; they had previous knowledge on the worm, but not biotechnology. the classroom teacher?s opinion was that the analogical model is of utility because the students deepened their biotechnological knowledge and strengthened what they knew. it is concluded that the analogical model is feasible and effective to teach biotechnology, it allowed understanding the comparison of the processes that occur in the californian red worm.
