Estrategias culturales, estructuras tradicionales y gestión social en el pueblo urbano de San Pablo Chimalpa

the aim of this work is to describe key aspects of the social and religious structure of san pablo chimalpa -located at the cuajimalpa delegation in mexico city- as well as the way it links with some of the processes of participation and with negotiations for community services and improvements. how the town is represented vís-a-vís the delegation's urban governmental structures has a central role in this process. three historically-anchored patterns contribute to the understanding of current changes in the town: the kin-based socio-religious exchange system, the pattern of local political representation, and the history of the city's expansion and absorption of small, rural towns.
