QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND INTEGRATED TOTAL QUALITY IN SPANISH MINING: RESULTS OF AN EMPIRICAL STUDY

this paper presents the results of an empirical study conducted in spain among mining companies that hold iso 9001 certification. this study aimed at reflecting upon quality management in spanish mining; and discovering whether the certification of a quality management system provides companies with a framework for integrating total quality management with other management systems, such as environmental management or occupational health and safety management.
