La época de Oro del cine mexicano: la colonización de un imaginario socialKeywords: social imaginary, colonialism, cinema, identity, multiculturalism. Abstract: in this article we outline that the film practices developed during the época de oro of mexican cinema, contribute to the social colonization of an imaginary. they do that presenting the mexican, a socio-culturally heterogeneous world, through a limited group of characters and lifestyles that become the epitome of "the mexican". this way, the movies of the época de oro naturalize in the screen what should be understood as the essence of the "mexicanity" and, with that naturalization, it settles in the social imaginary the ideology of the restricted multiculturalism. in this article, two emblamatic productions of the golden time are analyzed (allá en el rancho grande, 1936, of fernando de fuentes and enamorada, 1946, of emilio fernández), that allow us to exemplify some characteristics of the period.
