La poesía del '40 revisitada hoy: imágenes y pre-visiones del espacio urbano en textos de Rodolfo WilcokKeywords: generation of the 1940s, wilcock, urban space, latin american poetry. Abstract: argentine poets of the 1940's contemplated their context from either a neo-romantic or a classical perspective. thus, their visions of urban space are marked with a nostalgia for lost landscapes or images of cities that do not grow at such a fast pace as the real ones. this article explores poems by juan rodolfo wilcock, one of the major poets in this generation, trying to find out how their itineraries, ideas of time and of space have acquired new meanings, beyond the original romantic nostalgia or classical reminiscence. in our day, these poems speak to us of cities that have been growing uncontrollably for decades, and of a countryside that is further and further away. the spaces this poet envisioned in the modern period should be revisited in a post-modern context that re-signifies them.
