this paper propose a description and cone ethnopsychoanalytic interpretation of the cinema madness images. with the comparison bettwen two cults films, 1919s the cabinet of dr. caligari and 1999s fight club, we want to emphasize the differences betwen the filmic madness pictures corresponding two differents historicals periods, modernism and postmodernism. this differences show the way how madness and mental ill has been constructed like cultural representation, based on archetypes and stereotypes connected to opposite ideological and aesthetics frames.
