Abstract:

the acclimatization of plants from the culture in vitro to ex vitro conditions is very important for bananas. this study was carried out at the national institute of agricultural sciences and plant-factory san jose de las lajas. the objective was to evaluate the effect of a brassinosteroids analog (abr) applied during the acclimatization phase in some morpho-anatomics, physiological and cytogenetic characters in the vitroplants of 'fhia-18' clone, obtained with the use of abr consecutively in every phase of in vitro culture of this genotype. a mixture of organic matter and eutric compacted red ferralitic soil at a rate of 3:1 v/v was used as a substrate. at 45 days, survival percentage, total dry mass, soluble proteins content, stomatal density, stomatal length and the cuticle thickness was evaluated. as a result, vitroplants root immersion for 15 minutes before being planted and foliar spraying with abr between 0.02-0.2 ?mol.l-1, 15 days after planting, increased plant survival by 11 % approximately compared to the control plants; and they presented bigger foliate area, dry mass and proteins content. it is informed for the first time that abr stimulates the thickness growth in the cuticle and maintains constant the chromosomes number.
