this essay describes and analyses major challenges and opportunities within the domain of international business in the luso-brazilian context. initially, the essay challenges the knowledge hegemony of anglo-american connections in the field of international business to sustain that to value the luso-brazilian connections in a globalized world may promote more solid connections with other countries and regions. as follows, the essay describes and analyses data related to inward and outward flows of foreign direct investments with the purpose to stress out, among challenges and opportunities, the growing internationalization of portuguese and brazilian companies in the last two decades. as final considerations, the essay sustains that the intensification of luso-brazilian connections in terms of the flows of investments require interdisciplinaries studies among the fields of international political economy, international business and international management.
