an exploratory experimental study is presented where eight beams previously designed and tested to fail in shear, where the previous testing damage was substantial, were repaired using a beam jacketing consisting of a light-gauge steel wired mesh covered with 2 cm thick grout. repaired beams were tested under monotonic loading and the obtained load-displacement curves were compared with those obtained for the original beams. the tested jacketing technique was effective, as higher deformation and load capacities were achieved by the repaired beams.
