Evaluación comparativa de híbridos de girasol (Helianthus annus L.) En dos zonas productoras de VenezuelaKeywords: oleaginous plants, cultivars, yield components. Abstract: in the commercial sunflower sowing of venezuela imported hybrid seeds are used, so the genetic materials have to be previously evaluated to know their performance in the growing zones. the purpose of this paper was to evaluate the hybrids mg2, mg4, em787032, em777364, em776541, trisol 600, m742, and m734 (as control) in the localities of sabaneta (barinas state) and turén (portuguesa state). a randomized complete block design with four replications was used to evaluate plant yield (py), plant height (ph), head diameter (hd), stem diameter (sd), weight per 100 seeds, and elapsed time to reach 50 % of flowering. the combined analysis showed differences (p≤0.01) for py, ph and sd for locality (l) and genotype (g) effects. hd showed differences (p≤0.05) for genotype effect. the interaction l x g showed differences (p≤0.01) only in py. the hybrids with the best yield were mg4, em777364, and em776541, for being statistically similar to the hybrid with best performance at each locality. the highest average yield was reached by the hybrid em773641 in the locality of sabaneta (4499 kg·ha-1) and the lowest by mg2 in turén (627.3 kg·ha-1).
