ergotamine has being used and accepted as a good meted for treatment of migrane. this sustance is product of a fungas the claviceps purpurea that was known for many centuries and was used for migrane treatment since 1883 and followed by many publications. however other autors think that is only a placebo. ergotamine is absorbed at gastrointestinal tract and secret with bile. the contradictory studies can be reduced that if the drug is not efective in three treatments should be changed.
