from a nursing situation with burnt patients in the assistance hospital area, a theoretic-conceptual analysis is developed, where it is evident the care value supported by principles from philosophy, ethics, epistemology and theory as a contribution for scientific development of nursing profession. the work was pursued in the burns unit of simón bolívar hospital, city of bogotá (colombia) on august 5 2005.
