Reflexiones en Torno a la Masculinidad Hegemonica en Ni？os de una Escuela Rural en Chile

this article is based on research conducted with children from rural areas, living in a school/internship belonging to a rural community in the ninth region of araucania-chile. we used a qualitative methodology with discussion groups. we worked with six children aged between 8 and 13. in this article we review the concepts of gender and masculinity constructed by them, their beliefs related to being male and being female, as they relate to girls/women and the positions assumed in the discourse.among the findings we highlight the primacy of a negative code concerning the constitution of masculinity, framed whiting in the particular circumstances of rural areas and boarding systems.
