Factores biológicos y psicológicos de la dermatitis atópica

this article addresses the relationship between biological and psychological factors of atopic dermatitis. this illness is considered as a chronic disease and has serious psychological consequences for the functioning of the individual. this is a disease mediated by the immune system, in which psychological factors such as anxiety and depression have an influence through various channels, such as the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system and hormonal factors, as well as the secretion of substances such as cortisol and hyperreactivity of the immune system. all of this, together greatly influences the development of symptoms associated with this disease and vulnerability to it. this review allows us to see the importance of interdisciplinary work, as well as the need to consider psychological treatment for the control and management of symptoms.
