Prevalencia de hipertensión arterial en adolescentes de 15 a 17 a？os

a descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted to estimate the hypertension prevalence in 1 645 adolescents aged between 15 and 17 years, who were studying in the "cuqui bosch" high school, belonging to the "30 de noviembre" health area of santiago de cuba during 2004 - 2005. it was found that the rate of hypertension prevalence was increased with the age, as well as that this condition prevailed in males, in students with nutritional evaluation of overweight and obese, and those with smoking habit and medical family history of hypertensive parents.
