La otredad: Una visión del pensamiento latinoamericano contemporáneo

the otherness is an epistemological stance that discursively explores the image of those cultures that created their space on the periphery or on other intermediate cultural spaces. it establishes a geo-cultural, historical, archaeological, sociological and ethnological knowledge of the other; a metaphysics where heterogeneities and differences are subsumed under a homogeneous language and integrated into substantial categories such as "people", "class", and "nation". the little story of being is bolted down in latin america by the big story of the state of being. this highlights what kusch calls "the deep america" as he submits a transcendental unit expressed in the "culture of the state of being", a path that enables the visualization of values that give sense and coherence to life in a community covered up with images, myths and symbolic structures, which favor the incarnation of a different rationality. this work reviews that stance and its conceptualization in latin american literature of the end of the xx century.
