Entre la represión y los derechos sexuales y reproductivos: socialización de género y enfoques de educación sexual de adolescentes que se embarazaron

this paper aims to describe the different prevailing approaches to the sexual education of adolescents who got pregnant in the context of a particular gender socialization and its relationship with some of these girls' reproductive behaviours. it is based on research which included 40 open interviews with adolescent girls who got pregnant and 40 interviews with their mothers. aspects considered include the relation between the mothers' appraisal of their daughters' school performance, their permissive or restrictive attitude towards sexuality, their valuation of maternity as an immediate or more remote project leading to various approaches to sexual education that differ according to the predominance of moral-religious values, and the emphasis on the biological-preventive aspects or the recognition of sexual and reproductive rights.
