the purpose of this paper is examining the role of women in the hebrew society, in relation with motherhood. biblical texts are approached as a descriptive and normative frame, and they are related with archaeological information concerning family composition. the objective is show the reproductive role of the hebrew woman as mothers by divine imposition, ruled by biblical texts.
