Caracterización bioquímica de poblaciones del complejo de maleza arroz rojo en Venezuela 1Keywords: red rice, oryza sativa l, o. rufipogon griff, o. latifolia desv, electrophresis, isoenzyme. Abstract: in venezuela, the red rice weed complex is composed of three of the gender oryza, oryza sativa l. (60%), o. rufipogon griff (39%) and o. latifolia desv. (1%). the objetive of this research was to compare 15 red rice populations using electrophoretic techniques in starch and polyacrylamide gel. crude extracts of seed plumules, aged 14 days after sowing, obtained from seedcollected in rice farms of portuguesa, calabozo, cojedes and barinas, were used to evaluate 5 isoenzymatic system (idh, pgd, pgi, k and 2 est). five repetitions of each isoenzyme were made. data were submitted to a multivariate analysis of hierarchical tree using euclidian distance with a criterion of aggregation upgma in the program cirad, which generated a dendograma. results showed that the specie o. latifolia was different from the others populations and/or species in this study, for all the isoenzymatic system, whereas species o. sativa and o. rufipogon, showed a high phylogenic affinity, with similar band patterns for certain populations.
