DIVERSIDAD GENéTICA DE UNA COLECCIóN DE CACAO MEDIANTE RAPDSKeywords: theobroma cacao, genetie diversity, rnolecular markers, rapd. Abstract: summary a study was undertaken of the genetic diversity of criollo cocoa materias belonging of the germ plasm bank collection 95 in ocumare de la costa, aragua state, venezuela and materials of belonging to the three reference cocoa groups: criollo (chuao-120, 1-porcelana and guasare), trinitarios (ics-8 and oc-61) and forasteros (imc-11 and imc-67), through a random amplication of polymorphic dna (rapd) fragments. the opc-14 indicator produced the structure which describes best the natural diversity of the genotypes and allowed the formation of four groups. this classification proves a relation between origin and the groups generated through molecular characterization. results suggest that genotypes of collection 95 have been propagated from a common plant.
