DESARROLLO DE LA LIMNOLOGíA EN COLOMBIA: CUATRO DéCADAS DE AVANCES PROGRESIVOS

an overvew of the historical development of limnology in colombia since the decade of the seventies was made. the biological and physicochemical characteristics of different aquatic ecosystems and the assessesment of how much information have been gatered is analized. the knowledge of limnology in colombia is based on information of the most relevant existing literature. it concludes, that certainly in the last four decades has made great efforts to know the physical and chemical characteristics of our aquatic ecosystems and their flora and fauna associated with them. however, still there are too much work to do in all fields of limnology.
