NUEVOS HOSPEDADORES Y LOCALIDADES DE IXODES SIGELOS E IXODES AURITULUS (ACARI: IXODIDAE) EN CHILE

an individual of rattus norvegicus was observed infested with a nimph of ixodes sigelos and two of oligoryzomys longicaudatus each one infested with one larva of i. sigelos. both are new hosts of these ticks parasit of rodents described exclusively in chile. in addition, the first record of the bird cureus cureus as host of ixodes auritulus is reported from a bird infested with a female tick. all hosts were captured in chillán. the status of ixodes species in chile is discussed
