FORAMINIFEROS PLANCTONICOS DURANTE EL NI？O 1997-98 DEL AREA DE COQUIMBO (30°S; 73°W), CHILE

recent planktonic foraminifera from two sediment traps (ch10-2 and ch11-2) situated off coquimbo (30°s; 73°w), chile, during one and a half year (14 february 1997- 1 july 1998), were studied. a total of 26 planktic foraminifera species were identified, six are characteristic of warm waters and have appeared for the first time in the study area with el ni？o 1997-98. the taxonomic revision (synonymies and combinations), character diagnoses and biology of each species, accompanied by a specific key and microphotographs (sem), are presented
