Abstract:

this article is framed within the controversy of strategies when developing values at home and at school. it shows the educational institution as the place where the possibility of establishing relationships with individuals with different visions of everyday knowledge is opened from the codes they have learned at home. the study was performed at cuernavaca montessori primary school (morelo state, mexico) using research-action methodology. 54 students from 6 to 12 years old, 4 teachers, the school principal and 68 parents were involved, aiming to design strategies for a proposal of developing values involving parents and the educational community, therefore improving the practices suggested in the two programs of values development currently at the school: the formal, demanded by the public education ministry in the curricular plan, and the one developed by the institution from its own: sathya sai. the process of consultation and interaction among the subjects who participated to the point of theorizing their practice to direct the strategies into a proposal that involves the initial programs in a globalized logic is presented.
