Abstract:

initial education as the first level of the educational system with an important and essential goal such as addressing boys and girls so they can acquire socio-affective experiences using reading as the vehicle to understand the relationship of individuals with their surroundings, we can state that schools are not offering the space to meet this purpose. the purpose is to suggest mediatory actions that contribute with children developing abilities and skills necessary to build oral and written language, making them human beings capable of learning and teaching during their entire lives. a descriptive field research was used with a population of 120 technical degree students in preschool education. the instrument used consisted on a survey through a questionnaire and some of the conclusions were: narrating stories allows establishing a close communication with children and makes it easier for the teacher to mold childhood anxiety to blend playfulness and affection. 50% of active teachers do not have the academic preparation to perform the teaching-learning process in preschool; furthermore they are not aware of the importance of storytelling to motivate values in children who attend preschool.
