Estudio de las preconcepciones sobre los cambios físicos y químicos de la materia en alumnos de noveno gradoKeywords: preconceptions, science teaching, learning science, change of matter. Abstract: the aim of this paper was to do a study on the preconceptions or previous ideas about the topic of physical and chemical changes of matter. the importance of this study lays on allowing us to have a general vision about the topic, to consequently establish strategies that help achieving longed goals such as meaningful learning. a sample was chosen from basic education ninth-grade students. a questionnaire was used as an instrument. the results obtained showed in general the preconceptions the sample had on the topic, they lacked a scientific conceptual structure, despite the previous school preparation from their primary and basic education schooling. these ideas persist and are shaped as mental structures of some significance.
