Abstract: this article will study the issues concerning the inclusion of the information and communication technologies in the teaching and administrative activities of the universidad pedagógica experimental libertador - instituto pedagógico de caracas as well as the attitude they provoked in the teachers. in this a field research two perspectives complemented each other: the quantitative and qualitative methodologies. the results drawn from the quantitative analysis and the processes observed were triangulated by means of a qualitative methodology. these results reveal that the upel-ipc teachers have a favourable attitude towards the ict. although in principle they are aware of their importance and usefulness they have not adopted it in the classroom because they ignore both how to use them and their instructional potentiality.
