Abstract: serious reflections about fractures and change in constitutional and political areas in the current venezuelan climate are not just language games; in them, lies a vital, inescapable implication that touches the daily experience and lives of each venezuelan. any work about contemporary venezuelan reality, including those conceived from an academic viewpoint, such as this one, intertwine with the turbulence: they cannot give themselves the luxury of ?giving it time.? this contribution shares that urgency which imprints a tone on any thinking dedicated to the task of dismantling the political stage of democracy in venezuela. the urgency will conclude only with some signs and, as always, with more questions. documentary analysis was used; conclusions were that if a true condition of active citizenship is gestating which confronts and infringes on the delegation of power bestowed on president chávez, a route that o?donnell has called delegatory democracy, it will only be through significant struggles and conflicts.
