Abstract:

this report shows the global results obtained in a study in which an experimental teaching scheme is developed under a fourth grade group of a primary public school (9 year old students). this scheme is a teaching program composed of activities focused on a variety of scenarios close related to the children's daily life. this work remarks how these activities favored the construction of the notion of fractions in the student, as well as the recognition of some of its meanings (part-whole relationship, measure, intuitive quotient and multiplicative operator rudiment). moreover, in order to asses the achieved goals of the stud-ents in the teaching program, two questionnaires were applied: one before the implementation and the other one after it. furthermore, three children, chosen in advance for the case study, were interviewed with the objective of analyzing the most relevant learning processes involved in each one of them.
