Taller de estudiantes. Santiago de Cuba: Ciudad Segura

in this paper, the results of the students’ workshop “santiago de cuba: a safe city” (sc+sc) are presented at the vii international meeting city image and memory held on may 2011. it aimed at searching for alternatives to increase the security of human settlement, applying the alternatives to two vulnerable sectors of the city of santiago de cuba. the workshop was coordinated by arch. julio cesar pérez velázquez with the collaboration of the professors: zoila ba？os, grisel cabezas, luís enrique bello, julio cesar pérez, and also the special participation of arch. josé antonio choy. this paper shows the motivations and details of the workshop and the students′ proposals, emphasizing the need to go over these topics for the new generation of architects.
