every principle of practical guidance tends to have varying degrees of underdetermination. the categorical imperative is not an exception. kant distinguishes among several formulations of it. in this paper i propose a distinction between primary and secondary formulations. my main goal, however, is to discuss whether a secondary formulation is missing and a moral significance that it might have.
