Tragedia y modernidad en la teoría sobre lo sublime de Friedrich SchillerKeywords: schiller, tragedy, sublime. Abstract: the main purpose of this article is to show an evolution in schiller?s philosophical thought, taking as its starting point his texts about tragic art and feeling of the sublime, written contemporarily with his philosophical essays. schiller goes progressively from a negative evaluation of modernity as apposed to harmony and unity presented in greek art, to an understanding and positive evaluation of the possibilities offered to man by modern era, whose main trait is a tragic vision of man and his relationship with the world. tragedy is thus introduced, initially, as the representation of modern man?s inner division and progressively becomes the space in, which tragic modern destiny is removed and positively interpreted as the appropriate context for an effective realization of freedom.
