Background: Serum pentraxin 3 is an inflammatory biomarker involved in the innate immune system and plays a role in vascular and metabolic inflammation, while anthropometric parameters are used to assess nutritional status and the risk of metabolic disorders. However, the relationship between these variables in individuals without diabetes mellitus remains inconsistent. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the correlation between anthropometric parameters and serum pentraxin 3 levels in non-diabetic adult subjects. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design involving 70 subjects. Measurements included body mass index (BMI), mid upper arm circumference (MUAC), waist circumference (WC), and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), while serum pentraxin 3 levels were measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test. Results: BMI (r = ?0.148; p = 0.222), MUAC (r = ?0.227; p = 0.059), waist circumference (r = ?0.182; p = 0.133), and WHR (r = ?0.169; p = 0.163) showed no significant correlations. Overall, all parameters demonstrated weak negative correlations. Conclusion: The results showed that body mass index (BMI), mid upper arm circumference (MUAC), waist circumference (WC), and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) had no statistically significant correlation with serum pentraxin 3 levels (p > 0.05). Overall, these findings indicate that anthropometric parameters are not significantly associated with serum pentraxin 3 levels, suggesting that body size is not a major factor influencing serum pentraxin 3 levels in non-diabetic adult subjects.
