Against the backdrop of educational digital transformation, smart sports technology offers a new pathway for reforming physical education in primary schools. This paper focuses on the innovative integration of smart sports technology with gamified teaching in primary school physical education, analyzing the current state of primary school PE teaching and the value of smart technology applications. It explores innovative directions for teaching objectives, content, and methods empowered by technology, identifies key challenges, and proposes systematic countermeasures. The aim is to provide theoretical references and practical insights for improving the quality of primary school physical education and promoting students’ physical and mental health development.
