An Analysis of Zhang Xuecheng’s Academic Reconstruction Path from “General Meaning of Literature and History”—With “Book Teaching”, “Historical Virtue” and “Historical Interpretation” as the Cores

本文将研究视角聚焦于《文史通义》中的《书教》《史德》《史释》三篇，通过分析章学诚在文章中所表达的史学理念与思想追求，进而探究其“解释–批判–重建”的学术史研究范式，揭示章学诚以“体圆用神”重构史体编纂原则，以“气平情正”规范史家伦理，以“以吏为师”贯通古今的治学方法，展现其建立新学术秩序的追求。
This article focuses its research perspective on the three chapters “Book Teaching”, “Historical Virtue”, and “Historical Interpretation” in “General Meaning of Literature and History”. By analyzing the historical concepts and ideological pursuits expressed by Zhang Xuecheng in his articles, it further explores his academic history research paradigm of “interpretation-criticism-reconstruction”, revealing that Zhang Xuecheng reconstructs the principle of historical compilation with “the genre is complete and the function is ingenious”, and regulates the ethics of historians with “balance of spirit and integrity of emotion”. The academic approach of “taking officials as teachers” that connects ancient and modern times demonstrates his pursuit of establishing a new academic order.
