|
Abstract:
To reveal the reasons for minors’ addiction to short videos and provide parents with suggestions for prevention and response measures, this study analyzes the current problems and causes of minors’ addiction to short videos. It is found that their addictive behavior is influenced by platform factors, individual factors, and family factors: the platform’s algorithm recommendation mechanism, immersive content experience, and social interaction functions are closely related to addictive behavior; minors’ weak self-control ability and unmet psychological needs are important inducements for addictive behavior. The family environment is also crucial. Parents’ improper parenting styles and their own excessive use of mobile phones may exacerbate teenagers’ addictive tendencies. In response to the above addictive causes, the study suggests that parents can intervene in minors’ addiction to short videos from four aspects: creating a supportive family atmosphere, setting reasonable usage rules, cultivating minors’ self-control ability, and setting a good example. This will help minors transform from being “trapped in the network” to “breaking free and blooming”.
