译者主体性下《The Kite Runner》中译本比较——以李继宏与李静宜译本为例

Abstract:
译者在翻译研究领域长期处于边缘地位,随着20世纪70年代的文化转向,翻译研究开始以译语为中心,译者的地位逐渐得到彰显。《追风筝的人》作为一部极具影响力和深刻内涵的文学作品,其不同的中译本呈现出多样的特点。该文从译者主体性视角出发,探究译者对原文的理解与阐释、语言的转换、译文的表达以及审美维度的把握发挥了重要作用;对比分析李继宏《追风筝的人》和李静宜《追风筝的孩子》两位译者的《The Kite Runner》的中译本,发现不同译者因对原文的理解程度、语言表达习惯等的不同,在词汇选择,句子理解和翻译策略选择三方面有着差异。该文旨在通过具体翻译实例,探讨在翻译过程中,译者主体性是如何得以体现和发挥作用的,希望通过探究不同译者在翻译实践中发挥的译者主体作用,为文学英译汉译者提供新思路。
Translators have long been marginalized in the field of translation studies. However, with the cultural turn in the 1970s, translation studies began to focus on the target language, and the status of translators gradually gained prominence. As a highly influential and profound literary work, “The Kite Runner” has been translated into Chinese in various versions, each with its own unique characteristics. This paper explores the important role that translators play in their understanding and interpretation of the original text, the conversion of language, the expression of the translation, and the grasp of the aesthetic dimension from the perspective of translator subjectivity. A comparative analysis of the Chinese translations by Li Jihong and Li Jingyi reveals that different translators, due to their varying degrees of understanding of the original text and their language expression habits, exhibit differences in word choice, sentence comprehension, and translation strategy selection. The aim of this paper is to investigate how translator subjectivity is reflected and functions in the translation process through specific translation examples. It is hoped that by exploring the role of translator subjectivity in translation practice, new ideas can be provided for literary translators working on English-to-Chinese translations.
